Ok so this post may be a bit on the short side because I haven’t really been up long enough to complete a full post. Today, I realized why the day after St. Patrick’s Day is the least productive day in the face of the earth. Everybody had a lot to drink last night and everybody was hungover but apparently I got the worst of it. The plan was to visit the EU Parliament and Commission but thanks to my nightly activities, I had to pass on those appointments and spend the entire day in bed and in the bathroom. Luckily, the group got back at 6:00 tonight and I was feeling on top of the world and ready for what was upon me.

Tonight was one of two nights where we had our meal paid for and tonight we went to Chez Leon.

This restaurant is extremely popular as it is said to be one of the oldest and best restaurants in all of Brussels. Seeing how this meal was already paid for, I decided to try something new and ordered mussels for the very first time. I had spent all day in bed and was absolutely starving so the rest I took by ordering them was mighty high. They came out and the smell was just wonderful.

The taste of these mussels were pretty good but I don’t think I could possibly eat them everyday. As much as I love seafood, mussels will have to remain on the lower part of that list. They truly did hit the spot and I’m extremely proud of myself for trying something completely new.

After dinner, my group decided to have a little “hair of the dog” and went to Delirium and had a few drinks. It became a nice little social gathering which was much needed after the previous night. Since we were all recovering, I have a feeling that we may have another long night in the near future.
